- Choose strawberries that are ripe but firm for best results.
Instructions
(This is a summary with step by step photos, full recipe measurements and instructions are in the recipe card below.)
Wash and hull the stems of your strawberries, and then slice them into thin slices using a sharp knife.
Arrange the strawberry slices in a single layer in your air frying basket.
Air fry or use a dehydrator to dry out the strawberries for approx. 60 mins.
Transfer the dried strawberries to a plate and enjoy as is, or use them in a variety of other ways.
How to use them
There are nearly endless ways to use these delicious air-fried strawberries. They are fantastic on their own as a healthy snack or dessert. Or get creative with some of these delicious ideas.
Equipment
I use a Ninja Foodi 8qt basket-style model. However, like most air-fried recipes, you can make these air fryer dehydrated strawberries in any model of fryer including toaster oven styles.
As always, different models will cook at different speeds, so make sure to watch your carefully towards the end of cook time.
Storage
If you’re not enjoying the strawberries immediately, let them completely cool to room temperature before storing them in a ziptop bag, mason jar, or airtight container.
They will keep at room temperature, or in the fridge for 2-3 days.
Or freeze them in freezer-safe containers or ziptop bags, making sure to squeeze out as much air as possible.
Expert Tips
- Thick slices will take longer to dry out vs. thin slices. Do your best to cut the berries with uniform thickness for even cooking times.
- I’ve made these with and without lining the air fryer basket with parchment paper. Both options work fine, but they took longer to completely dry out using parchment paper.
