Is ceramic cookware safe?
YES!
But not all are created equally.
So before you start chopping up those veggies, let’s talk about something really important.
You want to make sure the pots, pans, skillets, and baking sheets you’re using won’t harm your food or your health with toxic chemicals.
Read the labels carefully, and choose pure ceramic cookware. (Not cookware with a ceramic coating or glaze.)
You want only the best, high-quality cookware for making family meals.
Xtrema Ceramic Cookware
What sets Xtrema Ceramic Cookware apart? They make the best ceramic cookware set (in my humble opinion).
Here are just SOME of the many reasons why!
- Pure ceramic cookware that is 100% ceramic (NOT ceramic coated!) That means there is no aluminum core, no lead, and no cadmium.
- Completely free from harmful chemicals: non-toxic, leach-free, Teflon-free, PFOA-free, and PTFE-free. In fact, they even have 3rd party testing done on all their products! More about that here.
- Lightweight compared to cast iron, by nearly 40%.
- Versatile! Use it on the stove top, grill, campfire, or in the microwave. It’s even oven-safe because Xtrema can take a high heat source. (NOTE: It’s not recommended for induction cooktops as that requires magnetic metal cookware such as magnetic grade stainless steel.)
- Xtrema will not flake or peel with proper use. (Don’t use metal utensils.)
- And the best part? THEY LAST! Its durability speaks volumes. You can pass down these kitchen essentials to future generations, ensuring that your family can continue to cook with confidence for years to come.
- PLUS – they back that up with a 10-year warranty!

Caring for Ceramic Cookware
Do you want your pure ceramic cookware to last for ages?
Of course, you do!
Follow these easy tips to make sure your ceramics stay in top shape: give them a gentle hand wash, avoid extreme temperature changes, and don’t use metal utensils on them.
Tips for use
- Start by preheating your cookware for 3-5 minutes on your lowest setting BEFORE adding oil (if using).
- Xtrema recommends a light coating of oil (preferably avocado or coconut oil) be applied after heating your ceramic pan to create a natural non-stick coating. (I always avoid olive oil for cooking as it has a low smoke point.)
- Steer clear of placing frozen foods in your preheated ceramic pots and pans to prevent surface cracking. Sudden temperature changes can damage your cookware.
- Remember that ceramic cookware retains heat well, so generally, you don’t need to heat your stove above a medium setting.
- Use wooden, silicone, or nylon utensils for best results. (Avoid metal.)
- Do not slide your cookware across your stovetop, as you may scratch your stove.
- Fit the pan to your burner for the best results and prevent food burn.
Tips for clean + care
- You may handwash Xtrema cookware with hot, soapy water and a non-metal pad/sponge or silicone scrub brush.
- It’s also dishwasher-safe!
- For stubborn stuck-on food, use baking soda when scrubbing and get your ceramic skillet and ceramic pots looking brand new again.
- To prevent chipping and damage, use a soft towel, or cookware protector between pieces.

What to use it with
The sky is the limit!
Use your ceramic nonstick cookware for making soups, stews, pasta, pancakes, curry, stir fry, and so much more! I can’t think of a dish you can’t make here.
Xtrema Best Sellers!
- The signature skillet that’s available in 4 sizes (5-inch, 7-inch, 9-inch, 11-inch). If you’re looking to replace your frying pans, this is a good place to start.
- The versa pan (my personal FAV). I use the 12-inch versa pan (also available in 8-inch or 10-inch) often in my kitchen. It’s incredibly versatile for cooking a variety of dishes, and it’s easy to move around with its two handles.
- The 9-piece signature series set includes 3 saucepans with their lids, a 9-inch skillet, and 2 organic cotton potholders.
My Xtrema Review
Everything comes with pros and cons, so here you’ll find my honest feedback on the pros and cons of this pure ceramic cookware.
While the pros outweigh the cons, (in my opinion), in the interest of full disclosure, here are my final thoughts.
Pros
- Completely safe and non-toxic, containing no extractable metal, cadmium, lead, PFOA, PTFE, glues, polymers, coatings, or dyes. They even provide product testing results!
- Heats evenly for even cooking.
- Easy to clean, and dishwasher safe.
- Safe for use on all cooking surfaces (except induction).
- Does not react with acidic foods, think tomato sauce.
- Lasts practically forever, just don’t drop it! 😉
Cons
- Metal utensils are not recommended.
- Should be handled with care to prevent cracking or breaking.
- Takes some getting used to, especially if you’ve been using non-stick skillets all your life.
- Expensive!
Is it worth the investment?
While only you can answer this, my honest opinion is YES!
When it comes to safe cookware, I haven’t found another option that I love more than Xtrema.
With proper care, they will last a lifetime, and then some, so save them for your grandkids. 😉
