How about a fun twist on everyone’s favourite melon ball? This virgin strawberry melon ball is fruity, nutritious, naturally sweet, and so delicious!
A typical melon ball recipe usually consists of melon liqueur, vodka, and a splash of orange or pineapple juice. If you’re watching your sugar intake, the processed juices and melon liqueur are a big no, no. So here I’m using fresh fruits to provide sweetness, and I’m skipping the alcohol altogether. However, feel free to add some vodka or Prosecco to shake things up!
How do you make a virgin strawberry melon ball?
All you need is 5 ingredients and toss them into your blender. Pretty simple! Feel free to double or triple the recipe as you need.
- fresh cantaloupe
- fresh honeydew
- lime juice
- ice cubes
I usually have fresh cut up fruit in my refrigerator ready to go for smoothies or snacking. But if you don’t have fresh fruit, and you don’t feel like cutting any, you may substitute for frozen. Just skip the ice, and add a splash or two of water as needed, to get things moving in your blender. Keep in mind, you’ll get more of a slushier result this way, but definitely still tasty!
